Are you a tradesman interested in becoming a Piping Designer or BIM Modeler?

In Ireland Piping Designers and BIM modelers are in high demand, the experience gained on construction sites by tradesmen is extremely transferrable to digital construction. By fusing the knowledge gained onsite with training in the relevant software packages a tradesman can become a highly competent designer.

At DRS we have a history of successfully upskilling tradespeople for new careers within digital construction. Over the past five years we have welcomed over ten candidates into our office and enabled them with the digital skills required to pursue a successful career within BIM and Piping Design.

Presently DRS is working with multiple engineering companies that recognise the value that tradesmen and women can bring to 3D design and coordination.

Suited candidates will possess:

National Craft Certificate.
Apprentices in Phase 6 or 7.
5+ years construction experience.
Solid computer skills.
Motivation and a desire to learn and upskill.
CAD training / knowledge beneficial.
